Concept, Text, and Performance: Laura Hicks. This is a rough excerpt of the work performed at the PORCH showing, K77 Berlin, Germany. September 2012. This is part of my ongoing experiments into showing process as part of performance, in this case through the use of video and projection - the practice becomes the performance. Each day I video myself improvising it becomes yet another version of the work which is projected behind me and my verbal response is then recorded on top of the other audio scores the day after. Thus, there are two versions shown here: Friday's performance as well as Saturday's (with Friday's projected behind me...) Hopefully with better technology this exploration will be able to expand in the future.
