Combining his ritual theater with a film screening, Wayn Traub will perform for the last time in a theater play, as the stage is unsuited to reveal the truth. The viewer is invited to an inner journey merging genres. Petrus shows his own experiences and allegories, its duplication of identities: as a medieval monk for Wayn Traub, as cyber-punk artist or a porn film producer for Petrus, crossing boundaries between reality and fiction, past and present. Petrus The Roman is an homonym intriguing creation in between performance and film in which the Belgian artist opens his own “Pandora’s box” linking eroticism, Catholicism and iconographic themes. Petrus wonders how to “change the world”, how to be a committed artist in society at the end of a cycle, shaken by the fall of dictators and social revolutions, just once before he gets definitely sucked into the screen.

The feature film is an independent production that is also distributed and screened in film festivals, also performed with a live remix version by DJ Prepare.

In between reality and fiction, Petrus uses an innovating movie process of remix: from documentary, advertising or music video techniques (photographic collages, repetitive movie cuts and slogans, electronic music loops). Petrus embodies several identities during a risky trip in The Philippines, in a ritual that he remarkably handles. To reflect his concerns, some guests are giving real interviews influencing his destiny: as the cult artist and filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, J-Hon rapper of New York, the feminist activists of Femen and the Ritual Theater historian Freddy Decreus.

This film questions the decay of capitalism and the Catholic religion, rejecting among others, the question of the body and sexuality. Merging a fantasy plot to a self-biography, this film represents Petrus's final manifesto, with a special tribute to counterculture artists such as Johan Soderberg and Alejandro Jodorowsky.

EPILOGUE: At the end of the year 2012, Petrus has decided to stop creating theater plays, after this last part of his TRILOGY OF TH END focusing the theme "End of the world and revolution". In the future, he will pursue his hybrid projects in between films, music and digital arts.
