Planet IndigenUS presents Lara Kramer's Fragments
Saturday August 11th at 2:30pm & 8:30pm
Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, Ontario
A History of the Indian Residential Schools of Canada. From Montreal, Lara Kramer's acclaimed Fragments is a prison-like world, carved with memories of violence and isolation. Dancers Tal Minnie Aronson, Gabrielle Desgagnés, Lara Kramer and Melina Stinson grip onto each other desperately and forcefully expressing poetically the experiences of young girls who attended the schools.
"When I saw this work not only was I compelled, disturbed and moved, it was an emotional journey accurate in depiction. Hauntingly theatrical and spiritually embodied. I used the words dangerous, brilliant, emotionally charged and unapologetic. It is very satisfying in some senses that the voices of those effected and passed on resonate and vibrate through Lara's work Fragments." ~Troy Emery Twigg, Choreographer
Free Admission, Studio Theatre, York Quay Centre, 235 Queens Quay West
