This new work for the stage, based on Samuel R. Delany’s landmark science fiction novel Dhalgren, is part two of Simulated Cities/Simulated Systems, Scheib’s trilogy of multimedia performance works. Combining passages from the novel with original material, a trademark physical daring and live video feeds. A nuclear family struggles to sustain a reality that has long ago become fiction—and when their world finally explodes they take the entire city with them. As the buildings fill with smoke a newcomer arrives on the scene. She can't remember her name but she's determined to become a great writer and as she begins to write it becomes increasingly unclear if the world and her experiences determine her poetry, or if her poetry determines the world.
