- "Riccardo Attanasio Matlakas is an interdisciplinary artist who works with strucured improvisation, uses galleries as his playground, urban spaces as his theme park and his body as an explorative tool"
Riccardo Attanasio was born in Napoli, he was brought up in Scampia, the “Camorra Land” where he lives until he finishes his studies at the university of fine art of Naples. In 2005 he moves to London where he starts to work professionally as artist. Attanasio
is very active in England, Germany and Italy but also internationally.
Attanasio has displayed and performed in important Art institutions such as The biennial of Moscow (2010), The biennial of Instambul (2007), Rivoli Casle (TO, Italy), Maschio Angioino (NA, Italy). He also performed in collaborative projects in important institutions such as: Barbican for “radical Nature and ICA for a dance project “teppich”.
Riccardo Attanasio is an interdisciplinary artist who works in different media focusing lately on performance and painting.
From 2004 Attanasio has displayed in Europe and abroad, in important institutions but also in the street (a good example his new project titled “Heimat Obstruction”, follow the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDkCbRONy18).
