Úrsula San Cristóbal Opazo is a musician, researcher and performance artist based in Barcelona, devoted to medieval music and contemporary interdisciplinary art.
She was born in Santiago of Chile where she began studying recorder and early music. Interested in doing interdisciplinary research through her artistic practice as musician, Úrsula combined her musical training with musicology and performance art. In 2007 she founded with the chilean artist Francisco Gonzalez the Grupo Cruce, an artist collective devoted to artistic experimentation on early music, instalation and performance art. Ursula has studied
medieval music, musicology and art history in Italy (University of Milan; Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano) and Spain (University of Valladolid) and her solo works has been perfomed in contemporary art festivals, art galleries and academies in Italy, Spain and Lithuania.
