- Black Box Teater was founded in 1985 and is one of Norway’s main venues forinternational and Norwegian contemporary performing arts.
The theatre has an international profile and presents a broad range of international productions by names such as Ann Liv Young, Forced Entertainment, Giséle Vienne, Lotte van den Berg/Toneelhuis, Nature Theatre of Oklahoma, Richard Maxwell and the New York City Players, Jan Fabre, Deep Blue and Lone Twin.
Black Box Teater also promotes Norwegian contemporary theatre further through international networks and initiates a substantial share of Norwegian export in this field, with companies such as Verdensteatret, De Utvalgte, Verk Produksjoner and Vegard Vinge/Ida Müller.
The theatre has two stages and is located in a former chocolate factory in the eastern part of Oslo.
