Romain trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris (CNSMD) before joining various renowned dance companies such as Charleroi-Danses (B), National Dance Company Wales (GB), Dance Theatre of Ireland (IE), John Scott’s Irish Modern Dance Theatre (IE), Gelabert-Azzopardi Companya de Dansa (ES), Eun Me Ahn Dance Company (KR), PVC-Stadttheater Freiburg (D), Staatstheater Mainz (D) and more recently Constanza Macras-Dorky Park (D) and Les Ballets C de la B – Alain Platel (B). In 2013-2014 and alongside his performing career, Romain had the privilege to assist Alain Platel on “Coup Fatal”, a dance-concert for 14 Congolese musicians produced by the KVS Theater in Brussels as well as to collaborate with Koen Augustijnen on “Sehnsucht, limited edition”, a creation for the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater. In 2014-2015, Romain will be assisting Koen for the second time on “Dancing Bach” , a production of the Konzert Theater Bern.
Since 2000 Romain has also taken an interest in choreographing and transmitting his knowledge of contemporary dance and yoga teaching classes and workshops all around the world. Eager to support emerging choreographers, Romain has been on the board of directors and curator of the Berlin based dance festival LUCKY TRIMMER dedicated to the short choreography format since 2010.
