Professor, Experimental Dramatist, Ventriloquist/Performer
Rick Mitchell’s critically acclaimed, oft-published work has been seen throughout the U.S., as well as in Europe. His latest book is Disaster Capitalism; or Money Can't Buy You Love: Three Plays (2011). Another published play, Brecht in L.A., won the Holland New Voices award. Mitchell, who once earned his bread as a ventriloquist/comic while performing in scores of comedy clubs, as well as on cruise ships and national TV, is Professor of English at California State University, Northridge, where he teaches playwriting and performance.
