- I am first and foremost a choreographer, in the sense that I apply my knowledge of rhythms, complex behavior, spatial configuration, and productive collective work in every project that I participate. I have more than 30 years of experience as dance and theater director, and over 20 years directing cultural institutions and socociocultural projects. My interest for leveraging diversity and fostering human potential led me to work in citywide projects, identifying neighborhood's sociocultural capital, and sharing my expertize in processes of cultural transformation. In 2010, I found Cidade Criativa / Cultural Transformations, an organization that has been mainly dedicated to the project "Rio, Creative City 2010-2020". We organized 2 International Foruns on Creative Cities in Rio, at the RJ Museum of Modern Art (2010 & 2011), including discussions, conferences, and of course, a lot of art! We have also published a book, in July of 2012: "Rio Creative City: Culture as Fourth Pillar of Development", and currently we are preparing our next international meeting. I also have an extensive international experience both as a choreographer, and as a Laban Movement Analyst, and my passion for the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of MOvement Studies - LIMS NYC, where I discovered that I didn't have to choose, and could be an artist, a researcher, and a cultural administrator, makes me go back and forth between Rio and NYC to collaborate in shaping a space where anybody can find paths for being who they want to be. I have been LIMS' Arts & Culture Director, since 1999, and currently also serve as Chair of the Board.In Rio, I am currently rehearsing "Leonardo Manuscripts", a play for two actresses/dancers that I wrote using his words, which will premiere in June. I am also preparing the third edition of the International Forum Rio Creative City.
