Don't be afraid

The Danish group of No More Miss Nice Guy met last week to discuss issues, forms and interests in the project. We quickly agreed that the idea of situating ourselves in an institutional theatre or theatre school would be rather dull and not amount to much more than a well meaning bunch of artists, who take care of the "equality thing" - neatly stuffed away in some corner office. We clearly want to do something and not discuss or explain. Theatre as a space for playing for real...

Nina has been a theatre-maker for 14 years - writer, translator, director, dramaturge and conceptualist. She got bored with classic artistic conventions and is driven by questions that challenge the status quo, social structures and explores human connections. She is cofounder of the independent theatre company based in Copenhagen, TeaterKUNST, and works with alternative spaces, storytelling and audience relations. In 2005 she cofounded the European artistic platform @work network with independent groups in 7 countries. She has an MA in theatre and gender studies but never felt comfortable as an academic.
