Currently writing and directing for Bristol Experimental Theatre company in a Brechtian style. Formed in 1999 this company has staged twenty three plays and two revues. Brechtian style theatre is based on Brecht's theoretical work. The plays are issue led, exploring themes of reality and question different perceptions of how individuals see the world. The plays with their continually changing perspective, encourage the audience to question their own understanding of the issues being presented.
Currently touring three new plays, 'Obliging Victim', 'Pole Dancer' and 'Twitching Curtains'. Shortly to go into production two new plays 'Vengeance is Mine' and 'Creating the Monster'
Martine also writes and directs for 'Motley' Commedia dell'Arte theatre company. Formed in 2001 it is a fast paced physical theatre. Their knockabout comedies with grotesque characters, bawdy language, outrageous plots and wonderful visual imagery are a unique and exciting entertainment. Their shows, festooned with huge phalluses and titanic heaving bosoms, are incredibly clever, fast, breathtakingly rude and very, very funny.
Currently touring Samuel Vice and a family show, Sally May.
In rehearsal a new play Fanny Buckett.
