Kevin Jesuino is an emerging artist and performance practitioner devoted to theatre and media experimentation through interdisciplinary research, performance creation and education.
He is a graduate from Grant MacEwan University (Diploma in Theatre Arts) and the University of British Columbia (BFA Interdisciplinary Performance) where he graduated with distinction with a Medal in Fine Arts. In 2012 he was nominated by the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan for his support in community arts development. From 2006-09 he founded and was the Artistic Producer of New City Collective, a site specific performative installation based company which was based out of Bangkok, Thailand. Notable created performance works are “Grumplestock’s” (2005, Edmonton), “Narok: Burning Down the Big Top” (2009, Bangkok), “End of Birth” (2009, Bangkok; 2010, Baltimore), “Last Will & Testament” (2012, Kelowna/Chilliwack), “Finding Pessoa” (2013, Kelowna/Chilliwack).
Kevin Jesuino is also a video producer and projection designer who explores relationships between live art and new media. He has presented both graphic, video and interactive projection design work in the context of art gallery installations, most notably “XY* Series” (2013, Calgary Pride Festival; 2012, UBCO FINA Gallery; 2012, Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art), “Aquarium” (2013, Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art), “You Are The Only One Living” (2013, UBCO FINA Gallery) along with “Os Telemoveis” which was presented in Tondela, Portugal as part of a 2 week artist residency in the Spring of 2013. He has deigned highly visual video projection concepts for theatrical productions including “Finding Pessoa” (2013, Mixed Parallels Co., Kelowna) and “Muse”(2013, In Other Words Theatre, Nanaimo) along with sound design “Green Space”(2012, Inner Fish Performance Co., Kelowna/Edmonton) and live visuals for DJs and live bands.
Kevin Jesuino has presented and collaborated on work in Canada, the United States of America, Thailand, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. He is currently based in Western Canada.
