Bio
ERIC WALLACH (Director) is an independent theatre artist who creates live performance. Always crossing the boundaries that divide the audience from the show, Eric continues to create innovative theatre that is inclusive, audacious and joyful. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Eric arrived to New York in 1994 where he has directed at Performance Space 122, The Culture Project, chashama, La MaMa E.T.C., Knitting Factory, HERE, Dixon Place, and Bowery Poetry Club among many others. He has written, directed and produced such works as The Jack of Tarts: A Bittersweet Musical, Interview or Who’s Afraid of Edward Albee?, Radical Jew: 33, The Didi Plays, Suc Daddy – an urban operetta, Cain and Millesgården. Wallach has worked closely with theatre greats including Joseph Chaikin, Jack O’Brien, Penny Arcade and Robert Wilson. In 2010, Eric was the recipient of a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Space Grant that he used to mount his free-for-all public art performance entitled Flight 18. In the same year, he debuted in Paris with his The Breasts of Tiresias: A Surrealist Musical at the Theatre de la Reine Blanche. Youtube: ebwally
