Trained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Theatre Practice: Alternative Theatre and New Performance Practice BA (1st) and Goldsmiths (MA Performance Making, distinction) and have a PhD from university of Wolverhampton. Thesis title: Body Opera: In Search of the 'Operatic' in the Performance of the Body. My practice-research is an interrogation of the term 'operatic' with particular reference to movement. I observed opera singers, sketched them and developed Butoh derived embodiment techniques to bring the 'operatic' into the bodies of non-singers. I have performed nationally and internationally and my work has been supported by Arts Council England.
