I began my artistic career by working in traditional mediums such as painting, drawing and printmaking for which I received a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 1994. In following years, I completed several series of paintings including works on large wood panels, newsprint collages, hand-painted bottles and artist books. In 2003, I began experimenting with new media and soon produced a series of video and performance works dealing with the subject of commercial culture. This new direction led me to pursue an MFA in Imaging and Digital Art at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, which I completed in 2010. During this time, I also had the opportunity to intern for Baltimore Public Radio’s (WYPR 88.1FM) The Signal and produce several radio shows for broadcast. In 2007, I was awarded a residency at the Sanskriti Foundation in New Delhi where I collaborated with local artists on a video project that was translated into many languages. Since settling in Baltimore, I have had the pleasure to perform at Centerstage, the Contemporary Museum and the Transmodern Performance Art Festival. I am currently the Coordinator and Producer of the New Media Studio at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
