Theatre is an abstract space. It is a prescribed structure that needs shaking not a structure that deserves to be idolised. Theatre is an autonomous derivative of ritual, cinema in turn is a derivative of theatre. Their differences are measured in dimensions, both are vehicles that is all. The vehicle is not paramount over the experience of a journey or a destination. My work is not about building a bridge between theatre and cinema. It is about observing the stage from the screen and the screen from the stage. The gulf between both art forms is a sea of red velvet chairs; it is the audience, that is where my interest lies.
