A Resource for Performing Artists, Scholars and Audiences.
]performancespace[ is an artist led non-profit organisation that seeks to provide, studio and event space specificaly for performance art.
]performancespace[ is different to conventional studio space in its approach and set up, as each artist has a desk space but also constant access to a large comunal space for 'trying things out'.
The ethos of ]performancespace[ is that its good to work together. By that we mean sharing information, networks, opportunities and engaging in critical discussion about each others practice.
]performancespace[ is passionate about the need for a platform where work can unfold without restraints of duration or space. As such the space is also used for events and all resident artists have the oppertunity to organise events and exhibitions.
]performancespace[ believes that actions and people are all about movement. As such studio space is available on both a rolling monthly basis (to develop a fluxing core community) and short term (to widen the performance network and give space and support to visitors).
All artists have access to an extensive performance specific library, printer, scanner, projector and video equipment.
