choreographer, dancer/performer, itch dance journal editor, producer of many things dance
Arianne Hoffmann is a choreographer and performer whose experimental dance works roam the space between language and perception, between experience and analysis, between kinesthetic empathy and wry irreverence. Her works have been presented in Los Angeles, New York and Berlin, at Tanztage Berlin (Sophiensaele), REDCAT Studio, Highways Performance Space, Anatomy Riot, Bootleg Theater, Movement Research at Judson Church, The Velaslavasay Panorama, and TanzTangente Berlin. She has performed with Meredith Monk, Taisha Paggett, Nadja Raszewski, Kristen Smiarowski, Sri Susilowati, Cheng-Chieh Yu, and others. An intellectual nomad, she is a co-editor of itch Dance Journal and a board member of Show Box LA. She holds a M.F.A. in Dance from UCLA’s Department of World Arts and Cultures / Dance and currently lives, teaches, and works – currently on all things resonant – in Berlin, Germany and occasionally in Los Angeles. She is the co-curator for Tanztage Berlin 2014, working alongside Peter Pleyer.
