Ara Glenn-Johanson is a maker/performer/dancer/vocalist obsessed with unexpected virtuosity, energetic outbursts, rigorous craft, real listening, and grand silence. Her original performance compositions have been shown in SF at venues including ODC, CounterPULSE, Dance Mission Theatre, The Garage, and SOMArts. She has been seen in The Lily's Revenge by Taylor Mac (Mary Prime Love) at San Francisco's The Magic Theatre, the international tour of Mugwumpin's This Is All I Need, Sitting in a Circle with Erika Chong Shuch Performance Project, Dating My Blindness at Berlin's Mica Moca, Heeliomali and Trolley Dances 2010 with Epiphany Productions SDT, Romeo & Juliet (Lady Capulet) and Twelfth Night (Olivia) at Impact Theatre, Glory Glory (Margery Kempe) with Front Line Theatre, The Magik*Magik Orchestra (Women's Choir) at the Palace of Fine Arts and SFMOMA, Sextuple Indemnity (Maggie) in the NYCFringe, and Equus (Horse) at CharasNYC (which she still includes in her bio because she loved it so damn much). She holds a BFA in drama (NYU/Tisch - ETW & CAP21) and an MFA in acting(UCD). Ara's primary collaborator is Matthew Milo Sergi.
