Welcome to the Contemporary Performance Book Club.
Hi Everyone,
We're rebooting this group! First, has anyone else read the first book, Entangled: Technology and the Transformation of Performance, and want to add to the discussion, have any questions to the group to get us going , or just an opinion about the book you want to share with us. Personally I am fascinated by this book as it seems to be one of the first and most comprehensive books on the history of technology in live performance. Lets continue to discuss this book and I will also post another discussion for everyone to propose a new book to read while we talk about Entangled: Technology and the Transformation of Performance.
If you don't already have the book, Check at your local library or order online. Lets take two weeks to read the book (if you haven't already) and then we'll spend two weeks discussing the book and voting on the next book to read.
Discussions on Entangled: Technology and the Transformation of Performance will begin Monday March 13, 2011

Corinne, most important is you were obviously successful in 'wakening up' the group. :-) (Thanks!)
Comment by Corinne Cappelletti on February 16, 2012 at 12:41pm True. I didn't realize there was a desire to keep it more current. I should have known!
Sounds interesting. But it seems that the book was not published exactly lately. :-) It is from 2008. Am I wrong?
Comment by Corinne Cappelletti on February 15, 2012 at 5:09pm This discussion group is a great idea, but has it been neglected or closed? How about considering this newly published book for the next discussion: Rudolf Laban by, Karen Bradley? http://www.amazon.com/Rudolf-Laban-Routledge-Performance-Practition...
Comment by Adrian D. Cameron on January 16, 2012 at 2:53pm i'm game for more if others are. "Entagled" was a terrific and enlightening read. i'm currently enjoying "Russian and Soviet Theatre: Tradition and the Avant-Garde", a great survey from the period from ~ 1900 - 1930 with a lot of excellent pics/illustrations.
@ Pau Ros: What a great idea about discussing your publications of your actions! I just had a browse through some of the books you've put up, and they look very interesting!
Comment by Vaneeesa Blaylock on November 26, 2011 at 8:07pm Hi all!
I just joined this group... Entangled looks really interesting... but I notice that all the posts are from Feb-Mar... so perhaps this group is no longer active?
I'm definitely interested if you are still active.
And Pau Ros' idea of "reading" their actions sounds great...
Comment by pau ros on November 1, 2011 at 1:53pm We're a performing arts / visual arts company and we self publish our actions in a series of books; would that be relevent in this group?
