In Canada we have some excellent summer festivals, including one of my favourites, SummerWorks: an indie melee of theatre and music performance in Toronto. www.summerworks.ca

I also enjoy the cross-Canadian assembly the Magnetic North Theatre Festival, this year in Ottawa. www.magneticnorthfestival.ca

Theatre Festivals are springing up everywhere in Britain at the moment. The Brighton Fringe Festival kicks off in May and offers three weeks packed with theatre, music, performance and art. My favourite festival, though, is the International Performance Festival in Mainz. It's hosted by the Performance Art Depot; Famous & Divine performed their first piece there a couple of years ago and received the warmest of welcomes and great audiences. It has now got funding to host an anual event and we're going back with our latest piece, Fugitive Songs. The two people who run it, Peter and Nic, are wonderfully supportive of the work they invite and incredibly generous and enthusiastic with their time and resources.

I am personally looking very much forward to the bi-annual Waves-festival in Vordingborg, Denmark. http://www.wavesfestival.dk/?ver=uk
