The Arshinagar Project is hosting internationally acclaimed British performer, director and pedagogue John Britton next March and April for a series of workshops and performances in India. The tour includes two residential workshops open to both international and Indian participants.
The first workshop will be a six day residential in the South of India focusing on Ensemble Physical Improvisation. We arrive March 11, the workshop runs 12th - 17th and we depart the 18th. Only 10 places are available tointernational participants to work alongside 10 Indian-resident participants.
The second is a longer workshop up in the Himalayas, focused on developing performance in response to Shakespeare's Macbeth. It will be a challenging experience in a basic, rural environment that will culminate in a performance in the forests where we have been working, followed by a performance in the 'Ghosts of Shakespeare' festival in Delhi. The whole process runs from April 6th until April 23rd. Only 6 places are open to international participants alongside a similar number of Indian-resident participants.
At this point of time, we are accepting applications from prospective participants who are based outside India. It'd be fantastic if you could share this information with fellow artists in the UK, Europe and elsewhere.
