ANATOMICA, the first production of the renewed company Dance Works Rotterdam/André Gingras will premiere on Saturday, April 2nd in the Rotterdamse Schouwburg in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. ANATOMICA shows the revival of artistic director and choreographer André Gingras’ successful production Anatomica#3 (2007) and the newly created Anatomica#1. A Dutch tour will be followed by a mini tour in North-America in the beginning of 2012.

In the Anatomica series, André Gingras is inspired by the danger, beauty, and consequences of the body on display. In Anatomica#3, his first work in what will ultimately be a triptych, Gingras investigated the objectification and virtuosity of the amazing human body. In his newest work for this series, Anatomica#1, Gingras utilizes a contemporary dance language fused with explosive free running, coupled with his signature high-octane partnering.
